PARIS, FRANCE – 27 May 2023 – On Matchday 37 of the 2022/23 Ligue 1 campaign, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) were crowned Ligue 1 Champions for the 11^th time, making PSG the most successful team in the history of the French league.

PSG were top of the league since the first round of Ligue 1 matches and after drawing against Strasbourg (1-1) on Saturday 27^th May 2023, the team added another title to their extensive list of honours.

After winning the title in 1986, 1994, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022, PSG set a new Ligue 1 record, becoming the first team ever to win the league 11 times. In winning this 11^th title, PSG consolidated their position as the most successful club in France across all competitions. Since the club’s creation in 1970, its first team has now won 48 trophies, 30 of them since Qatar Sports Investments’ acquisition 2011.

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Paris Saint-Germain President said: “This is of course an historic moment for Paris Saint-Germain. This 11th French league title is the reward for all the hard work we have put in over the last 12 years. To make Ligue 1 history and overtake Saint-Etienne is a real source of pride. This record is obviously theirs too. I would also like to thank all those who have contributed this season to winning this 11th title – the players, the staff and all the Club’s employees who have worked hard to make this happen. It was hard but we made it. We are now looking forward to celebrating this title next Saturday at the Parc des Princes when we face Clermont.”
